For more than 20 years, Andy Beck has worked in the upper echelons of government and the private sector, successfully spearheading public relations, marketing and public affairs campaigns that moved people to action.
He helps companies, trade associations, and all manner of organizations earn greater brand recognition, boost sales, influence public policy and mitigate crises.
A first-rate strategic thinker, Andy is an expert at distilling complex issues and skillfully articulating points of view among a broad range of stakeholders through multiple channels. In doing so, he has developed a reputation as one of the nation’s most innovative communicators in the energy, manufacturing, transportation, finance and environmental sustainability sectors.
Andy has an impressive list of national media and government contacts and a keen understanding of the workings of the U.S. and international governments, having served as the Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Energy. He also served as the senior communications and outreach advisor to the head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as a senior communications advisor the U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary.
Prior to joining kglobal, Andy led Makovsky Integrated Communications’ Energy, Manufacturing and Sustainability practice while serving as general manager of its Washington, D.C. office. In that position, he provided strategic communications and marketing direction, brand positioning, media relations and social media counsel, and issues and crisis management support to corporate and association clients. Prior to his work at Makovsky, Andy was the Chief Communications Officer at Lighting Science Group, directing the company’s internal and external communications and investor relations activities.
Andy earned his Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Georgetown University and a B.S. degree in Environmental Science and Political Science from The University of the South (Sewanee).
