Jim McDermott currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Zenetex, LLC. Jim joined the firm in January 2009 and is responsible for managing the company’s information technology (IT), human resources (HR), finance and accounting (F&A) and contracts departments. Jim also has primary responsibility for managing the company’s mergers and acquisitions efforts. During Jim’s tenure, the company has undergone rapid growth expanding from $7 million in revenue and 40 employees to over $130 million in revenue and 1,200 employees. During this timeframe, the company has also made two acquisitions. Jim’s focus has been to maintain the company’s efficiency and competitiveness while successfully managing its growth and increased complexity.
Before joining Zenetex, Jim was the CFO of Atlanta, Georgia based Eagle Group International. Jim successfully led the sale of Eagle to Lockheed Martin in 2008. Prior to Eagle, Jim was the CFO of San Antonio based Karta Technology. Jim joined Karta in 2005 and successfully led the sale of Karta to NCI in 2007. Before he joined Karta, Jim worked for Anteon International and a predecessor for over 17 years. Jim’s last position at Anteon was as Senior Vice President of Finance where he had financial responsibility for a business unit of over $400 million in revenue and over 4,000 employees.
Jim splits his time between Washington, DC and San Antonio, TX. Away from work he focuses his attention on his three daughters. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in economics from SUNY Maritime and an MBA from Virginia Tech.
